Peter Budaj #31

This is the third variation of this jersey I owned lol. Originally, I found a steal of a deal on a White Ian Laperriere Reebok 6100 jersey on an Avs Facebook Group.  Lappy, as Avs fans knew him, played with the Avs for 4 years and was an instant fan favorite.  That jersey had definitely seen better days, but Reebok 6100s hardly come up, and I was lucky to snag it. 

Maybe a week or so later, a blank size 52 in near mint condition pops up on eBay for under $100.  I immediately purchased it, but later saw the item relisted for $100 higher.  I received a message from the seller saying they made a typo in the listing and meant to list it for $179.99 instead of $79.99.  I’m not 100% sure if that’s true or if the seller saw how quickly it sold at $80 and figured they could make another $100 off of someone.  Slightly annoyed, I pull the trigger again.

I then later traded the blank size 52 with my buddy Warped for a blank size 48. I sent this jersey off to EPS in Jan 2022 and got it back in June 2022, about 2 months faster than I expected it!

I had the jersey customized as Peter “Flanders” Budaj and added an Avs 10th patch for it to recreate Budaj’s first NHL start and win on the road against Dallas on October 8, 2005.​
