Starter (Size 48) – Team Issued “Berlin”

AL from the Hockey Jersey Discord alerted me to the presence of this White Whale, an Avs Inaugural Berlin! Outside of Game Issued or Game Worn jerseys, in the 3+ years I’ve been seriously into collecting hockey jerseys, I have seen exactly ONE other Inaugural Berlin, which I helped Broker.

That other Berlin already had a kit on it, which was pretty bad. It had no nameplate and used a very incorrect font; the shoulder numbers had the completely wrong color and material of twill. I didn’t have the bravery to even try to convince the one person I’d trust to fix that jersey into such an undertaking. Thankfully, he saw the potential and rarity in that jersey and came to that conclusion on his own, and boy oh boy, did he do a fantastic job saving it. Even with the limitations of having to work around the bleed left behind from the previous kit. That person, if you haven’t already figured it out, is none other than Liam “El Grande”, who has customized a handful of my jerseys along with helping save me from myself, when I thought I knew what I was doing 😀

When this jersey gets customized, the kit will be done by Grande, if not the whole process, that is, if I can talk him into customizing another jersey of mine, fingers crossed. Thankfully, he’s already done the kit when he saved my non-Berlin inaugural!
